Bill Maher takes you on a ride called, "Who do you believe in and why?" Most religious people will probably not like this doc**entary. In fact, there were people in the movie who didn't like Maher or his questions. It is avious that Maher portrays himself as an Atheist. Really, I couldn't see any other type of believer to do this kind of movie. His questions come from all angles and never were for praising another religion. I liked that. This doc**entary will help open the eyes to people lost on what they believe and may even keep the person, who has already decided, more apt to study their religion and learn all the facts before speaking upon them. I give this movie 4 Stars, because it was entertaining and informative on what kinds of beliefs are out there that aren't that common.
rnIs hatred of religious faith a central motivating force in your life? If so, you may enjoy how Maher, et. al. try to poke fun at faith in "Religulous." I left after an hour or so. It was predictable and neither funny nor insightfull. Maher is a smart guy and I expected more. Oh well, ...rn
Very funny. I really liked the informality of the interviews and Bill Maher's thoughts. The movie shows that it's impossible to connect faith and logic. But, it's interesting to see how people of faith explain away the obvious flaws and inconsistencies in religious text and teachings. Worth seeing.
Being a long time fan of the old Bill Maher...the Bill Majher I was hoping he'd return to...this movie was a great disappointment. No doubt atheists will find value in it, but I can't see many others caring. I truly wish Bill could get back to the pre-whinny place that brought such masterpieces as Politically Incorrect. I know he's been angry since it got cancelled, but please Bill...don't take it out on us.
This movie hits the nail on the head. Every rational and intelligent person will totally agree with everything Bill Maher presents, and sadly the people that need to see this the most probably would never even consider watching it. A five star masterpiece, that plainly shows how nonsense and fundamentalism play a role in today\'s worst atrocities. He\'s hilarious too!
This should be a rather humourous movie, I intend on seeing it. Being that the makers of \"Borat\" made this, I\'d imagine there\'s going to be alot of talk about it once it\'s out. Probably not for any close-minded religious people with no sense of humor.
no el paso or las cruces theater is showing this movie. my disillusionment in the country we live in continues to fade and i can't help but want to scream in frustration. bill maher should have titled this movie something christian and not released any details, but oh well i guess i'll go see beverly hills chihuahua which is showing at every theater and with eight convenient showtimes
No surprise, there is no theater showing the movie in Slovannah! Stupid back-ass redneck town! Time to move to civilization! Get me outta here!
I expected a lot, but this turned out to deliver even more than I had hoped. I'm not a review-type person, have never written one for a movie, and have no technical or other criticisms to offer. I just wanted to give the film a 5-star rating in general to encourage others to take a chance on it - it's well worth your time.
